16 May TumTum Tree Foundation Welcomes New Executive Director
The TumTum Tree Foundation is excited to announce the addition of a new Executive Director, Elizabeth (Libby) Sibley. In her new role, Libby is focused on growing our annual wine auction into the area’s premier charity event, while exploring new opportunities for patrons and corporate partners.
“After a long career away from Birmingham, I am excited to be back in my home town to continue my career for a wonderful foundation,” says Libby Sibley. “The TumTum Tree Foundation’s sole purpose is to provide funds focused on improving the lives of Alabama’s children through its annual wine auction weekend, and I am excited to work towards making this weekend an even larger success.”
After graduating from the University of Virginia, Libby began her career in the food industry. Libby found herself in a variety of roles in the industry, from line cook in Michelin-starred fine dining restaurants, to caterer, to food stylist and recipe developer. After studying the Classic Culinary Arts at the International Culinary Institute in New York City, and working and staging in restaurants in New York, Washington, D.C., and Birmingham, AL, Libby decided to leave the restaurant world and start a food business in Nashville, TN. Libby’s food business worked with Airbnb’s to provide local treats for guests. While assisting under the wine educator and business owner at a wine bar in Nashville, Libby coincidentally discovered her passion for and entry point into the wine industry. This was an easy and smart transition into becoming our new executive director upon her return to Birmingham.
Not only is Libby eager to lead the TumTum Tree Foundation to further successes, but she is also thrilled and grateful to return to Birmingham and experience its flourishing food and wine culture. Welcome to the TumTum Tree Foundation team, Libby! We can’t wait to see how your efforts impact our annual wine auction and, ultimately, benefit the children of Alabama!
